Just a quick update. Saw the gynae Consultant yesterday and the proposed surgery has been cancelled because too risky. Maybe possible to have some palliative radiotherapy.
Thank you all for your thoughts and caring the messages do help12 -
Morning all, Big BRRR on the brr scale today, fire was still in thankfully so I've just put some extra bits on to fire up quickly. I've only been in the downstairs toilet to put my eyes in and my hands are freezing already. Cooking on the go, beans are on, pork is drying so I can put the rub on and sear. I was weighing the herbs n stuff last night at two in the morning...Ah well, it's a prep help innit....Also went to ikea again last night and got three things to act as storage. I got one of those plastic white little shelf things for the lean to to put the veg in so it's not hanging around and oh my god, I have never, in my entire flat pack history, ever had to put together something so damn fiddly! I only did half last night [ also at two in the monring] and my fingers started hurting so much I had to stop. Never mind, finish that soon, hospital appointment later, and then panic I haven't done everything/thought of everything....And errr...it's the eighth today, not the sixth....:)Camelot, sounds very decadent and deserved
TA, I remember frozen clothes on the line...quite funny to see them like that...don't think of it as staying home, think of it as recharging for the next trip out
Gers, happy new chair day! Coxy, hope you get yours soon...Nanny, that did make me laugh..If I told my sil's children about outside toilets, they'd think I was many more years older than I am....:) Nels, hope the rest of your appliances have fallen in line and are behaving...AO are great but sometimes you get better deals with local shops, hope you can find an affordable one...And everyone lurgied up, hope it goes soon....Keep warm, throw snowballs...Advocat for the poorlies...

The First Noel, the Angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter's night that was so deep.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the East beyond them far
And to the earth it gave great light
And so it continued both day and night.

Morning all,Still -3 here but may rise to freezing soon.I managed to keep the stove going throught the night with a few pieces of smokeless fuel, so it didnt feel too bad when Ly1a wanted to go out at 7 before the heating had chance to get going.Poppy I'm glad to see an update from you, though shame about the op.As always sending my best wishes and gentle hugs.Dp1, poor little one , I hope they can enjoy the rest of their stay.I got the rest of my cards posted yesterday, and need to check my presents for DGC, I'm a bit behind with feeling ill- much better today, sore throat gone, not violently sneezing
Mehefin sorry you're feeling rough , at least I only have my big old dog to take out, ie. not far at all
Had salmon done in the remoska last night. DS didn't want his, he'd eaten a big chunky chip barm in the afternoon from a catering wagon, so I'll eat that at lunch.Hugs to the unwell & anyone who just needs one x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Hi everyone,
I'm writing first and then reading today because I have started a post every day and not got to finish it, so I hope I am not missing anything.
The house is quiet, Esben is at nursery and L, B and Esther have gone to see Matilda at baby cinema, I wonder if they'll hear any dialogue over the babies. Apparently Matilda's best friend is the daughter of a friend of Brian's.
Steve and I have had a quick whizz round before the cleaner comes, she is late today because of her daughter's school show but it makes no difference to us really.
I've not a lot to report, the house is getting decorated slowly, Esben keeps knocking decorations off the tree and then asking to be lifted up to put them back on so the top branches of the tree are covered in ornaments, while down below is sparser.
Laura has a hospital appointment for the haemangioma on her chest, its been a problem for a while and getting infected but she was told there was a long wait for a referral. On Friday she saw a doctor who took a photo and sent it to the dermatology service. She got a call within a couple of hours to say that they needed to see her within 2 weeks - it's not cancer but a special type of haemangioma which they treat like cancer because it's so unstable. Hopefully it will be sorted by Christmas.
I'd better go, I need to write my cards today, I finished a quilt for Nate last night so now I'm on to stockings - I made one for Esben but we can't find it so I'll have to make one for him too.
Have a good day.11 -

That's nothing! I was helping out at a youth club and the kids were painting stones. I asked one little 'darling' how old the stones might be. His reply? "Millions of years. BILLIONS of years! Older than science itself ... but not as old as you!" . Cheers, kid!Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!9

Afternoon - really late from me sorry!
I'm unexpectedly in the office again today due to IT issues! M&S have asked me to order the loveseat and they will honour the price difference plus send me a gift card once I receive the new chair.....probably in February as there's a 12 week lead time and I expect the factory closes over Christmas/NY! Not sure how much the gift card will be??
I too saw Matilda last night - nodded off as the cinema was so warm but rudely awakened when they burst into song.
Get well soon @mehefin and sending strength to @poppy811, thinking of you xx
Hope you've all had a good day,
Coxy

Success at last COXY. Well done for persevering. A shame you have such a long wait though. Fingers crossed the gift card is for a sizeable amount! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9
