Normally, you will filled in an enquiry form online for a  possible tax rebate. This form would authorise them to act on your behalf.
Claims are normally for such things as uniform allowance or travel expenses or marriage transfer allowance.

These firms- there are several- advertise they will check if you have paid too much tax and will complete a claim on your behalf- FOR A FEE.

"If we are successful in recovering a tax refund for you, we will charge a total fee of 48% (including VAT where applicable) of the tax refund we obtain for you. "

Are you a government agency or affiliated with HMRC?

No. HMRC does not endorse or affiliate itself with ANY private company. We are a private tax agency, which specialises in tax reclaim services.
