Hello,
I am hoping you can help with this.
Are ball joints considered wear and tear? Are they covered under extended warranty?
The dealer observations include:
N/S/F lower arm boot is split and O/S/F is cracking advise new lower arms
N/S/F drop link upper boot is split, advise new drop link.
I would really appreciate some advise on this.
Many thanks.

Are they excluded under the terms of your warranty? We can't see it from here.
Most of these warranties exclude so many items that they are near-worthless, they're just a marketing tool.No free lunch, and no free laptop2 -
As above , what does the warranty say, but in addition, when did you buy the car?1

It's likely not covered by warranty - generally they cover major components that are subject to catastrophic failure rather than slowly wearing out until needing replacement - you'd need to read the small print to see what it does or doesn't cover, but things like drop links and cv boots do generally wear out so I'd not expect it to be covered with one of your regular dealer warranties.1

As said above. Read the T&Cs of your warranty. I know Mazda have a huge list of exclusions, and the warranty doesn't include the extortionate " diagnostic fee's "1

The simple answer is it's very unlikely.
If they snapped, perhaps they would be covered if the part failed because it was poorly made or of poor design.
I take it the dealer has found these items after a service, maybe you could negotiate with them for the replacements.
If your car has been in the dealer network for all it's servicing, you could try "I'm a good customer, can you do me a favour with the price".

Well they are a wear and tear item and can be a reason for MOT failure. After sales warranties do not cover them.

The reality is that almost everything could be considered a W&T item, which is why most extended / 2nd hand car warranty are a complete waste of time IMHO. The only way you will find out for sure is to contact the dealer/insurance company that issued it?
.."It's everybody's fault but mine...."1 -
Unless it's a BMW with BMW Extended Warranty Insurance it's unlikely that wear and tear will be covered. BMW cover wear and tear up to 100K miles.1

Does the policy have mot insurance, my Peugeot does.
It covers £750 of mot failure costs.1
