Morning all, it's so very brr here, defnitely a frost and it's -1. I'm sure I was warmer last year than this, the fire has been on pretty much all the time for a while now. Myabe I'm starting to feel the cold more . I was wrapping up but honestly when the my nose was cold and my ears then it was too cold for me. I did notice yesterday though that is is definitely helping to heat upstairs as well, you can feel the heat coming up the stairs, which is really good. Lights went up in the window yesterday, today is party prep the beans and pork for cooking tomorrow. I would hate to have that job for a living, organising parties or whatever, I'd be a nervous wreck after two...Izzy, well done on weight loss, especially at thsi time of year
Coxy, that is seriosuly annoying and childish...izzy is right about power mad, they start thinking they are untouchable and always right. And lets hope M&S finally get you sorted, that's just rubbish customer service. Gers, your personal army and navy show sounds cool
Nls, glad that at least the jab went well..It's like a cascade failure when one things goes, they all want to join in on the act, give every other appliance a stern talking to...Nanny, hope Mr Fixit gets well soon...TA, enjoy your day out
Ruby, your job sounds perfect...snoozer, how lovely of him to help ::chortle:: camelot and bella, hope your colds go soon! Well, take care all, get those sleeping bags, fleecy throws and double socks out, it's a brr brrrr on the scale of brr today...Hugs n stuff to the not so well...

It's the most wonderful time of the year
With the kids jingle belling
And everyone telling you be of good cheer
It's the most wonderful time of the year
It's the hap-happiest season of all
With those holiday greetings and gay happy meetings
When friends come to call

Oh..fighter jet planes are back, can't see them for the clouds today but can certainly hear them scream past my house. The Chinook is slowly moving around and not doing the really noisy hovering next to my house of yesterday.

Good afternoon all,Wow that's pretty low Gers, thanks for the photo.Sympathy with the bossy condescending bosses Izzy and Coxy. No need for it, be nice to everyone, that's what I say!I am feeling a bit better today, sore throat eased & not feeling like razor blades scratching, still snotty and coughy but not as bad. I wanted to drop some things off at the hospice warehouse so DH and I went this morning, dropped the cards in at the P.O then called at a nearby Aldi for some kindling- ended up with practically a full shop
so I've cancelled tomorrows delivery until next week. It's been too cold here for the brickies to work for DHs job , it was -3 this morning, needs to be above freezing, DH did warn the customer yesterday that it might happen, as it was forecast. The cars looked like they had snow on first thing.
We had a power cut last night, all the road. We got a text warning us about 2 mins before it went off - just in time to locate the tea lights and emergency light. Luckily we have a few sets of battery Xmas lights and they helped too, good job I did the tree aand decs at the weekend. It was off for about 3 hours. I'll try and get some more candles etc. soon but it was good prep!Right, picking up DGD today, DS is watching DGS in a music concert so we'll meet at his house. Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -

Your picture of the wokka brought back some memories. We back on to a tri-forces special unit ( very hush hush) and I vividly recall seeing a wokka going out over the Bristol Channel with about 6 blokes hanging off a rope underneath. They did this multiple times starting early evening and into the night. Scary stuff.
have been suffering from a severe chest /throat infection and on ABs. Don't seem to be having much effect yet.No sleep for the last 2 nights! Feel washed out but when you have animals you have to soldier on. To be fair Mrs M has been doing the bulk of it.
Nags ok. Scoobymare beginning to show signs of aging so she is rugged in the daytime. She is 24 so she is allowed.
Nothing else of interest
Hugs and spoons as always and a hope for warmer weather!

Sorry you're feeling so rotten, taking ABs make you better and awful at the same time.Rosy - good to hear that you're on the mend, it's always more difficult in these cold dark days.

Red Ruby my local council are starting a scheme like yours, called Shared Lives. You seem much happier now.
Nelski, I've used AO a few times, I found them good value & easy to order and arrange a suitable delivery.

Morning
Well sorry to have a different experience but AO have been awful.
To be fair I have used them before and had good service but on this occasion not. I have a nice new machine they delivered but just not connected. They told me only a plumber could do it and they don't have plumbers so its back on that merry go round again. So I think if your job is easy then AO are perfect but if any thought is required go somewhere else
Asda delivery just now got some treat bits for the next couple of weeks. Plenty of cheese and cake now. Desperate for a piece of cake with a big chunk of Lancashire cheese but will power will win for now
Probably burger tonight with all the trimmings
Have a good day all x5 -
!!!!!!, all they had to do was screw in a connector, how hard is that? I hope a complaint is on it's way...
