Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark chilly start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was LO roast very nice it was too. Remembered to get chicken out to defrost - I'm making chicken and mushroom pie for tonight's dinner..
Half day at work today, so not to bad. Yesterday was busy I expect tomorrow to be the same.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
I'm in the London office today. Am mightily annoyed with one of our middle managers who made my colleague cry yesterday over something that was out of her control. I'm so cross on her behalf. Years ago this happened to me and my then boss told me off in front of a room of colleagues, so I waited until I was calmer and took him into a room and told him how unprofessional he had behaved. He never did it again and was so shocked I'd spoken out. Have told my colleague to do the same, but if I see the manager first I will definitely say something - and breathe....
Sofa-gate continues. No-one called me back yesterday so I've sent yet another email saying I would accept the love seat at no extra cost and how are they going to compensate me for my stress and wasted time choosing another sofa. I hear M&S do lovely hampers?! Have cc'd the CEO every time I email. And breathe again.....
Dinner tonight is YS lightly dusted cod fillets with peas and broccoli. I am taking HM BNS and carrot soup to work with a WM roll. Will take an early lunch as despite having 3 microwaves everyone is having hot food now the weather has turned!Hope your cut finger is healing @Gers – I sliced my thumb on a broken glass last week and kept catching it and pulling it open again – so painful.
Hope your jab was okay @Nelski and you’re on the mend x
Have a good day all

Morning folks. Thanks for starting us off nmlc.Coxy - thanks. The cut is not deep or big it's simply annoying as I keep opening it up. I didn't put a plaster in it until I went to bed. Even hot water made it sting. Still, I'm probably making too much of it. 😅My, it's freezing here. The temperature is sitting at 0°c right now with the promise of 4°c later. Brrrrr. Yesterday I lit the stove in the early afternoon and will do the same today. The sun was so bright all day but no heat coming out of it.The electrician came and did his thing. I did lots in the house so felt fairly smug with myself for a while. In the afternoon the glen where I live became a playground for our Air Force. Firstly a huge Chinook helicopter (long thin with two rotors) circled round for ages, then it just hovered over the field outside my house. I went out to watch (was expecting a bunch of SAS blokes to abseil down from it 🤤 ) , it then went round my place swooping so low and close that I thought it was going to come through my front door. After half an hour of that two very fast fighter planes zoomed through a few times doing dog rolls right outside my front door. Very impressive and much better than the telly.
The farmer's wife took great footage of it helicopter as it swooped past my house, looks very scary. All that seems to be training for either Swiss pilots or Ukrainian ones. It brought home to me how dreadful it must be for it all to be real.Today is another exciting time - my new chair is arriving between 11.30am and 1.30pm. This is for the ex-spare bedroom and been on order since mid August. I'll be so chuffed to finally have it in place.Because if my 'industry' yesterday 😂 I have a large potful of lentil soup portioned up so will have some today.I hope that everyone is warm and well. Hugs to our poorlies. Happy Wednesday to all.11 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Brr 9 deg in the kitchen when I came down (put CH straight on!) dread to think what the temp was outside but everywhere looked sparkly in the moonlight on the thick frost. Another brr!
I had my usual lovely meet up with BFF yesterday and our third friend joined us for lunch as she had hoped. So a good few hours in good company with good coffee, then good food and lots of chat and laughs. Nothing much got done once I got home.
Gadding off again today - bus trip day. Only two of us again. We will decide where to go when we meet. I am not bothered as long as a wine 'n dine lunch is involved! I think we will need double thermals on today!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, fed up or MIA. COXY I am shaking a fist at the rude manager and also M & S. I can't believe how much they are messing you about. Some compensation should really be due after all the stress they have put you through. And re your quick question about their hampers - I ordered one for DS and his DP for Christmas. No complaints as it arrived intact (wicker hamper inside a sturdy box) on the date I requested. Take care folks and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all
Dry here but very cold dont think there has been a frost though, dd is still in bed as she doesnt start work till lunch time today so is having a much needed lay in, she is normally out of the house just after 7.
The two lads are coming today for funny Wednesdayone of them has to leave at 1.30 so I might suggest a walk along the seafront this morning and then a film later in front of the fire with hot chocolate.
Dinner tonight is sausage mash and veg will do some onion gravy with it, I am not particularly keen on sausages but OH loves them so he will enjoy it, dw to empty and I will have a tidy round before the lads come.
Coxy I once had a manager do that to me and I was doing him a favour at the time, I called him out on it and he was as nice as pie to me after that, I think the power goes to some peoples heads !
Have good days all and keep warm xx10 -
Good morning, it's a chilly one here.Coxy, sorry to read about your colleague's experience, what a horrible person this manager must be, I hope she does face him about it.I once, just once, faced up to a bullying manager, and she backed down straightaway! I'm the least confrontational person in the world as well. Also your ongoing situation about your sofa, you must be fed up.TA you'll need to wrap up for your day out, have a good time though.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can today, keep safe and warm folks.12

Morning
Lots of ice around today so frantic screen scraping from my neighbours.
Heating on for a warm up this morning
Ive added to the bruise collection with the jab. Alls fine with that just an achey arm. Very easy process at the local Asda pharmacy straight in and out.
Seems I am cursed at the moment with house stuff going wrong ....the washing machine has gone to the great white appliance heaven so I will have find a replacement today no problem I'll just grab some dosh off the money treeIts one of those things I just can't live without but it will be a very basic one.
Todays plans are to sort my card and pressie list out. I have very few I send now but it obviously is not going to be so easy this year so ill go early.
Also need to have a quick tidy of the kitchen. Jess the cleaner is here Friday so its clean for the cleaner time.
Have a lovely day all and stay warm11 -

Nelski - a washing machine is a modern day necessity, I'd hate to be without mine. I hope that you can find and get a new one soon. I've heard good reports about AO but never used them.Bella - outside here there's a very crisp white heavy frost. No snow thank goodness though snow right here is rare. I've been watching the farmer chug up and down the track in his big red tractor delivering huge bundles of hay / sillage to the sheep and cows. I miss seeing old fashioned haystacks in the fields, nowadays the grass is rolled into tube shapes and wrapped in plastic, not half as beautiful though I'm sure it's much more practical.Ruby - your walk along the seafront will be very bracing so an afternoon in front of the TV afterwards sounds perfect.I've moved into my thick winter jumpers now. And I've laid the stove ready for when it's needed - about 11.30 should be right.10

Morning all another one in brrr land 🥶 We have the heating on too. I was woken early this morning by a very boisterous postman delivering some parcels for DD, who wasn't happy with just ringing the bell but hammered the knocker too. Mr Fix It was up but he isn't well as he has D&V, so I'm hoping I don't catch it 🤮 It's DD's birthday today and it was a freezing day like this in 1983 too, where has all that time gone.
Today we are going to put up the tree but I don't know if Mr Fix IT will feel like doing much so I'll potter on and do my best. I didn't get all my tasks finished yesterday so I'll have plenty to occupy myself.
Coxy 🤬 to M&S again and the manager.
Gers what a sight, pity about the MIA SAS though
Nels good luck wm hunting.
Have a good Wednesday all, stay safe and wrap up warm if you're venturing out.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.

Coxy I’m cheering you on give some people a badge and they go power mad I once worked with a woman who delighted when you had a queue of people to serve tried her best to show you up but you got no backing of the management i worked at the fish shop at the same time and quite often at the top of her voice she used to say can anybody smell fish what a strong smell of stale fish she was a COW and that’s been polite now when she tries her best to talk to me but I told her once I don’t have to have anything to do with you now do not speak to me but she’s all smiles and still tries I totally blank her there’s some horrible people. Gers I bet that was a great show on your doorstep happy new chair hope you are sorted with the sofa soon Coxy it’s exciting we will all be sat opening pressies soon on all this new furniture I love Xmas .
