@cw18 sorry to hear that you are having a rough time. I have had covid twice now, the first time before the vaccines were available and I felt dreadful for months after - it was like ageing a decade or two in a few weeks. The thing that made the biggest difference to me was having that first vaccine. It seemed to flush out whatever remaining virus I had in my system and allow me finally to recover. My husband was the same. I only mention this in case you are pending a vaccine, it might help.I second the comment about the work counselling being very likely to be confidential, it certainly should be. The fact that you have several members of staff going off with stress in recent months is a red flag for me. Could you highlight this to HR or another manager, asking for discretion, or even your union if you are in one? I am unimpressed by your boss - they sound like a bully and someone who shouldn’t be in a leadership role with attitudes like that. No possibility of you finding another job? The job market is still fairly buoyant for candidates so it could be worth a look? Even if you decide that where you are is as good as it gets for your role, local area etc, at least it becomes more your choice.KKAs at 15.04.24:

@cw18, I echo what @Debsnewbudget says: I'm currently having counselling via my employer and it doesn't go on my record. However, several managers have told me they've tapped into the resource themselves.
I'm finding it helpful: the service spent an hour talking to me (helpful in itself) to match me up with the right person but I could have changed counsellor if I felt she wasn't right for me. I also had the choice of phone or online, and access to an app to dip into as backup.
It may also be worth checking if your employer would consider resilience training to cut their sickness levels?

Hello!
I mended my bedsheet on the sewing machine. I don't think is going to last long,as fabric is worn out on some places, but still.11 -

@ladyholly, it's a fitted sheet, but thanks for mentioning. @Soontobeoap, good idea. I've good bed cover for this bed and it's total mess. It has big holes from very worn out fabric. Realistically, I should bin it and buy another one. But I really like it and want to save money.

DH is definitely more on board with frugality - finally.
Where I have been struggling with my focus he has stepped up to the mark with his suggestions. i.e the water filter vessel we have in the fridge has a substitute filter and refills can be purchased. Me, in my wisdom buys a years supply only to find that I had thrown it out only a few weeks earlier
now got to order another at extra expense... I said we would have to waste water now coming from the tap as we have a combi boiler in not a happy tone... he said just put it in the bucket to be used for the loo Doh!
Also this weekend have done an under the sink stock take and found a considerable amount of candles - type that would go into a holder (which we have) he suggested would be good at night instead of putting on the light while we watch a film I think the penny is starting to drop. Good lad
Siblings and myself are in the process of clearing out (still with us) parents house and I am quite happy accepting or asking for any practical products that can be used up toiletries, cleaning products, washing products, garden stuff. We have quite a collection which will take a year or so to use up. I also pick these items up off the car boot too.

Why is everything so difficult to sort out these days. We recieved our bus passes this year. DH works mine doesnt (no beep) we have rung, been sent to library for form. Library dont know what form and told us to ring number we have already rung. Rang number again they told us I would have to pay £10.00 for a replacement pass. I was provided with a faulty pass!!!!! I have emailed them!
On a better note I managed to get some medication that I was buying, on prescription this time so saved £10.00. Also found a hobbycraft voucher for £10 off a spend over £30.00 in paper that was given to me by neighbour. So Grandchildrens little parcel of crafts for the summer months tirned out a lot cheaper.
Pricked out cucumber plants today and peppers are now hardening off outside. Hoping to get to the bottom of the compost bin this week and find some more good compost. So much to do in the garden.
Update :- council have agreed to change my bus pass for free just this once! So all in all that is £30.00 I have saved tgis week.
