Morning allI don't have a smart meter, I'd rather read the meter myself. Quite frankly I don't trust them. I might look into a yoghurt maker, I eat a lot of it.12

Went to A5da today as it was near where we were going.
I was amazed, quite a few 10p yellow sticker (YS) items. I thought the days of that low were over. We got some cubes of carrot & swede (in freezer to make soup at the weekend) and bread. Oh and some doughnuts which we had for lunch (oops!).
Not a YS, but I also got some live yoghurt as a result of our conversations here so I'll try that at the weekend.
Also, I saw camel milk for sale. I didn't buy it but I've never seen it before. I don't want to try it but has anyone tried it before?9 -
My hoover filter needed replacing, through cash back site, shopping around I got two filters for just £8.00 + £1.00 cash back. I had a gift card so they actually came to £3.98. From the company direct they wanted £15 for one filter plus £4.99 p&p. So saved some money on this purchase. Home contents is due for renewal I paid £74 last year this year renewal price is £130. I wasn’t paying that so I went through cashback site got £18.50 cashback + 2 for 1 food and cinema rewards and my quote was cheaper at £87.00. So again saved myself some money, a very productive day.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £6011

No spend weekend for me. I'm happy 😊9

Hadn't heard of camel milk before, so went onto the supermarket website to take a look - especially interested as I use non-dairy milk (mild lactose intolerance)
Serious OUCH! at the price. But the carton size would suit me really well if I wasn't having cereal / making a white sauce. Even with milks that keep well belong the 3 days, I often end up tipping more than half a 1 litre container away
If I found it in clearance at 75% off I'd be game for trying it, but not at full price. And, as several of the reviews say, it has a dreadful carbon footprint compared to other milks.

but wouldn't camel milk be dairy? is it something other than milk that comes from a camel's teats?? I'm not very wise about these kinda things.cw18 said:Hadn't heard of camel milk before, so went onto the supermarket website to take a look - especially interested as I use non-dairy milk (mild lactose intolerance)7 -
Lactose is a sugar found in cows milk. Many people who are lactose intolerant can drink goats milk or sheeps milk. I would assume camels milk is 'safe' as well.snowbird20 said:

OH has just googled, and apparently camels milk contains some lactose - but less than cows milk. As my intolerance is fairly mild I should be fairly safe with it.

I drink lactose free cows milk. Slightly more expensive than the norm but tasted just the same.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £35.96 spent, 144 made and 5 mended,

Super frugal weekend here. Just need to keep up the momentum for another week or so until payday. Quite often the days before payday are where we fall.
