I too would like to be in 2 very expensive once in a lifetime holidays coming up in 2024 Antarctica Expedition and South Africa and DH looking to retire in the next 3 yearsSlava Ukraini6

Wow, @bellabella, those are fantasic holidays. The Antartica one in particular would appeal to me.
I am planning a really nice holiday in 2025 as it's our silver wedding year. There will be no holidays in 2024 so we can save up, although there will be a couple of weekends away. I'm not sure what we'll do yet for our silver wedding holiday, OH and I are batting ideas back and forth just now. This is all we are planning to do, no big doo or expensive meal out is planned, just a holiday for us both to celebrate.
I am slowly clambering back onto the frugal wagon. I had planned to do a couple of things last night but time got away from me so tonight I need to:- Inventory food stocks in freezer/pantry/fridge and plan meals around that.
- Do some free exercise, proabably a walk if I can get out when it's still light or a YT video. I like the Walk at Home ones from Leslie Sansone, I used these alot during lockdown.

Hi fru-guys and gals, welcome to November and thank ou to all for posting about being part of the frugal living challenge.
Frugaldom is about combining frugal living with debt freedom in order to give you the choice to pursue your best life, however you choose to do that. Time poor - I know all about that one while running the sanctuary, the rewilding project, the hut site and our campervan stopover aire while trying to fit in other stuff, like writing. Today is the first day of 2023 NaNoWriMo and it's also getting to the time of year with very few daylight hours and even fewer hours of sunshine while relying on a mini-solar setup. There's also the renovation that's still nowhere near complete so the shoestring budget is now shirring elastic. LOL
As a rathe rash spendathon today. I spent £14 in the village store when what I needed amouned to no more than about £8 - the rest was chocolate and popcorn to keep me company during the dark hours of struggling to keep the laptop charged while attempting to write at least 50,000 words as part of the book writing challenge. Shame my forum and social media posts don't count.
Good luck to everyochallenge. Only 2 more months to gone participating in this year's NaNoWriMo and good luck to everyone in successfully completing this year's Frugal Living Challenge - only 2 more months to go
Soup weather is upon us!I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
Frugal living challenge - living on little in 2025 while frugalling towards retirement.11 -
I’ll be in again next year, in fact I’ll be starting tomorrow as one house project has been completed and now a new fridge/freezer is needed - it doesn’t owe me anything as it’s old but the motor is on 24/7 and the cost in electricity …… still it’s another challenge to get my teeth into. Between now and new year I can price up the one I would like, redo budgets yet again to accommodate it and hopefully be able to buy one before it gives up completely. I’m just going to cut out all unnecessary spending up to Xmas, luckily Xmas has already been budgeted for, so I know that’s fine and see how much I can cobble together to give myself a good start. I’ve already cut my bills to the bone, and the only bill left to get rid of altogether is the tv licence and which will be cancelled in the new year just in case there is something to watch over Xmas, I don’t really watch the tv anymore, it’s only on when the dgc come over for a visit. I do have enough in my emergency fund to buy another one but that will need building up again if I use it and I would rather save up for a new one and keep that intact - daft I know but it’s just that I don’t want to use it unless absolutely necessary.

Not daft, NannyGladys, sensible. When we moved here the television came after washing machine and fridge freezer on the buying list. We had so much to do and never got round to getting a television. So we saved the 100+ euros for the licence and possibly up to 1000for the television itself, the dish and the installation. Anyway I don’t understand the way they work anymore. And we are fine with our books and following along on MSE.8

retiredinfrance - my tv was given to me and is nothing special, it’s not ‘smart’ or anything but has an integral DVD player that I watch sometimes. I have quite a lot of films because when I had a caravan I used to trawl the cs for them to watch in it! I haven’t bought a tv for years, I think people must feel sorry for me when they see how old mine is and when that get new one ask if I would like their old one, so to me that’s a new one 🤣🤣🤣£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund10
