Unable to move money out of HSBC Savings Accounts

When I had my HSBC current account frozen in February I was able to transfer money out of my bonus saver directly to my Lloyds account by ringing them. I had to speak to a few different people on the phone to find someone who would make the withdrawal though. Once they'd set up a new payee over the phone I could make subsequent withdrawals out to my Lloyds account using internet banking.

Well, after a couple of abortive evening attempts, where I didn't get through for half an hour and their lines closed, I managed to ring this morning. 

Another half hour on hold, then half an hour to sort it all out. I was offered the chance to have the chap on the end of the phone add a payee at a different bank, which in hindsight I should have taken him up on, but quite frankly I've got too many accounts on the go ATM! 

Anyway, both accounts now closed and the money transferred to somewhere useful.
