Yearly Personal Budget

  • Hi everyone,
These all sound great and exactly what i need! I find the month to month trackers online aren;t great at capturing those non monthly costs. I wonder if any of you would be willing to share a template of yourfor others to use? i find Martin's budget tool useful but it isn't the ongoing tracker I need, it's more of a review of the spending in one moment..correct me if i am wrong.
    thanks

  • I use a single spreadsheet, in Google Sheets, with separate sheets for
    • annual budget
    • Jan
    • Feb
    • Mar etc.
I reconcile transactions to bank accounts each month and apply categories in the monthly sheets. This data is processed and shows up on the annual budget sheet.

I can see the whole year's income and expenditure by category on one sheet, broken down by months. And I can drill down into individual transactions on the monthly sheets.

I based it on the YNAB approach which really worked well for me but became expensive.

Did you create that google sheets yourself @InvertedVee or is it something that can be found online? I also need to get a realistic understanding of where I stand on an annual basis.

I did it myself. Took me ages!

I'll have to watch some YouTube videos and teach myself how to do this better @InvertedVee as a good spreadsheet can make such a difference.
