Money Moral Dilemma: Is it OK to get my friend something for Christmas that's on sale?

Well, each to their own I guess, if that is what you and your friend enjoy. I hate being given 'novelty' gifts. They often go straight in the bin. Complete waste of time and money. Can often take more time and effort trying to choose a novelty gift as it does finding something the other person might actually want or need. Martin's tit for tat video can apply just as much to these type of gifts as any other. All those £10s add up plus wasted time and effort and packaging. It's a no from me.SkyFae said:we will swap what we call "squishy" presents - basically a small gift between £5-£10 often fun socks or similar
Sorry if I sound a bit bah humbug. If you both enjoy it then you carry on.0 -
If you've agreed a set figure, then stick to it, to salve your conscience if nothing else.0
