Octopus smart meter gone past 99,999KWh and back to 0

Rather odd Smart meter problem. When my digital meter went over 99,999KWh about two years ago it read 00001. I gave the monthly readings as shown on the meter This wasn't spotted by the Octopus smart system until recently when they claimed I had a massive variation between my readings and theirs. I submitted a photo of my meter which at the time was reading 036000. The disputed it and passed it to their smart dept. I checked on my monitor readout and saw it read 136,000. They appear to think I've somehow used an extra 100,000KWh. I await their reply!

If the smart meter went around the clock and now shows 36000KWh, it would be correct if the readout shows 136000KWh, the 100000 before it went back to 0 plus the 36000.

Are you sure that the meter shows 036000? Usually meter will only have 5 digits, and if it is really 036000 it should not have gone back to 0, but show the correct 136000.

Why do you believe that think you have used an additional 100,000KWh? Do they tell you you have used 2360000KWh?

A photo of the meter would help. Digital meters are not necessarily smart.
