PayPal Credit Account

Hey everyone,

I recently used PayPal Credit to book a holiday and paid it off in full the month after.

Since then, PayPay automatically switched all of my direct debit/subscriptions (Netflix, Prime etc) to the credit account without my consent or knowledge. I still received an email email month to say ‘You’ve sent a payment of £6.99 GBP to NETFLIX SERVICES UK LIMITED' so I didn't think anything of it as there was no change.

I then received an email saying I need to make a minimum payment which lead me to realise I've got a large bill to pay off, with fee's and interest.

They have said it's because my card expired however, I updated it with a new one prior to this AND I have two other cards on the system which should have been a default means of payment.

I didn't receive any notifications to say it would be switching over and I didn't accept anything that said 'you'll be charged fee's and interest' on top of the payments.

PayPal have said the below:

''If there was no preferred funding source chosen at the time of the transaction/billing agreement then as per the PayPal user agreement, the billing agreement can be charged to any available funding source that is on your account, Paypal Credit can be used to fund these billing agreements following the hierarchy.

However, I feel, the issue could have happened due to some technical reasons. To resolve the issue, Please let me know if I can help you with a credit voucher of £11.98 GBP to resolve the issue.''

So, after reading the above, they have said there is a fault but won't refund the full charges or cancel the large payment. I believe I shouldn't have to pay because I didn't agree to it.

Can anyone advice what to do?

Thanks in advance!

What's 'the large paynent'? Your subscriptions? If so, why do you think you don't have to pay them?
I guess £11.98 is the interest on the top of the fees - and they rightfully waived it.
