You will, of course, add in the rest of the template defence and adjust the numbering before sending by e-mail to CCBC.
  • Hi all, I've received an email from DCB legal:

    Good morning,

Having reviewed the content of your defence, we write to inform you that our client intends to proceed with the claim.

In due course, the Court will direct both parties to each file a directions questionnaire. In preparation for that, please find attached a copy of the Claimant's, which we confirm has been filed with the Court.

Without Prejudice to the above, in order to assist the Court in achieving its overriding objective, our client may be prepared to settle this case - in the event you wish to discuss settlement, please call us on 0203 434 0433 within 7 days and make immediate reference to this correspondence.

Should I be expecting to receive a directions questionnaire via email or post?

I've seen some cases are dropped after a defence is filed, does this mean it's very unlikely mine will be? 😅

    Totally predictable!

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You seem to have abandoned that checklist you were following when you filed a Defence.

Item 7 on that list is...

Items 8, 9, 10 and 11 on that list might be worth another read too.

  • Hi all

Update: Court date received today (16th May), followed promptly by an email from Highfield with a settlement offer for just under half the outstanding balance.

Does anyone know if they usually drop claims before/ after their 7 day deadline to pay the court fee? I read a few threads where after settlement offers were ignored, the claims were dropped 🤞

Have another read of that thread that @Umkomaas gave you a link to on 11 January at 9:54PM.
