Home contents insurance payout affect benefits?
Long story short, ex-wife (and kids) had a house fire, they've been in a temp house for 8 months while rented house they lived in got renovated. It's taken several months for home contents insurance to pay out a fraction of the amount but it's been paid and they're due to move back in this week.
Yhe amount claimed is over 50k but she and the kids are moving into an essentilly empty house and have to replace everytihng from cups and towels to clothes and Telvisions. Can a payment of this size risk affecting her benefits/UC? (she works part time < 12h/w, is carer for our son)

H2121 An amount received from an insurance policy within the past 6 months can be disregarded where it is in connection with the loss or damage to the
1. premises occupied by the person as their home or
2. personal possessions of that person.
