Halifax app notifications going missing or delayed

On Monday morning the Halifax Android app failed to notify me of a payment received. To test if something had changed I made a payment, there was no notification until 8 hours later. The notification for the initial payment received still never arrived.

Around ten at night I made an online purchase with my card which required approval on the app, the prompt did not appear as it always does, I had to open the app myself to see it. Thinking something may be wrong with my phone or account, I had my partner do a payment- separate Halifax account and phone, not mine. It has been 3 hours and still no payment notification.

This may be isolated or temporary but if you're waiting for  app notifications on something important it may be best to not depend on them entirely.

Lloyds, obviously using the same or very similar apps and systems, is generally prompt but can sometimes send notifications hours later, too, and yesterday there were a few for me that were very late. This has been my experience for as long as I've been using it with Android, iOS and iPadOS so I'm afraid it sounds like business as usual.

Halifax were absolutely hopeless for notifications when I used them. I'm with Monzo now who do a vastly better job of everything.

I've noticed both Halifax and Bank of Scotland seem to have delayed notifications. Lloyds seems okay
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

I switched off Halifax notifications yesterday because they were annoying me.

I had about 12 standing orders go out around 03:00 on Monday morning. Normal weekly process. I normally just clear all the notifications when I wake up.

Not yesterday. They (the notifications) started around 13:00, some 10 hours after the transactions, and kept coming, about one every 20 minutes.

Annoyed the hell out of me.

First World problem, I know, but my phone keep bleeping unnecessarily throughout the afternoon is something I can do without.

Hopefully, it will be sorted by next Monday.
