Why do they need to be careful the whole site closes down for one month in January. So they would not be eligible for this application.

They don't need to worry then, but there are others on less compliant sites that may inadvertently bring attention the site owner would rather have avoided...

No one said they did have to worry I just didn't see the relevance of your reply at all.

    Anyway moving on

Many in "holiday" park homes go on actual holiday/stay with relatives during the winter shut-down month/s as they don't have another home.
Most on the site where we have some family they have houses as well either home or abroad. (Those with only homes abroad or no other home got hit hard with covid restrictions on sites)

Airbnb in a closed month is what I am told a few use

It is nice to know however that those with all year round sites will finally get some help with their energy bills.

An update on my original post here regarding government support for residents living off-grid in park homes.

It was hoped the application process to receive the £400 energy support discount would go live at some point in January 2023. But now it seems it has been pushed back a further month to "on or around 27th February".

The reason for the delay is due to the complexity of the eligibility of park home residents (permanent and holiday) in association with finance houses (banks & building societies) and local councils to prevent fraud and inaccurate eligibility and payment methods..

Below is a link to parliamentary questions being put to the Right Honourable Graham Stuart MP on the issue (the salient point being from around 13:29:00)

The problem was already identified in February 2022 when the original £200 "loan not loan" was announced, and is in officially acknowledged in documents since 1st of April 2022.

Scary that they only now see that they need to do some work.
