Amazon - stolen phone

I purchased a phone from Amazon last week. The box was delivered without a phone, Amazon have refused to send me a refund and have said all I can do is raise a police report (which I have done). Unfortunately, I did not use a Credit Card to purchase the "phone", has anyone else had this issue with Amazon and does anyone have any ideas how I can get my money back

Presumably you go back to Amazon with the police crime number, and they determine what to do.0

When you say 'stolen' (as opposed to just missing), was there any sign that the box had been opened?0

So the outer box was held together by sellotape as opposed to that Amazon tape (although I don't know if Amazon uses these interchangebly). There was no inner box just a phone case, a cable and a small bottle of sun lotion. I feel like the outer box was opeend, the phone removed and the phone case, cable and sun lotion put in to add weight, that's why I assumed it was stoleneskbanker said:When you say 'stolen' (as opposed to just missing), was there any sign that the box had been opened?0 -

I get what you're saying, and you may think I'm being impatient, but the phone was a Christmas present and it takes 28 days before you get a reply from the police so I was hoping someone would have found a quicker solution to get their money back from AmazonAylesbury_Duck said:Presumably you go back to Amazon with the police crime number, and they determine what to do.1 -
So if you didn't use a credit card, how did you pay for it?0

It's not going to get sorted faster than that, I'm afraid. If you try a chargeback Amazon will dispute it (and probably close your account as well) and small claims action will take months.andrew_donnelly456 said:

To be fair at least you've stopped me banging my head against a wall, it looks like I'll need to wait it out.Aylesbury_Duck said:

I suggest you read the victims code then. If you have a crime number and their updates are every 28 days then that's either something you agreed to or the police are not upholding your rights as a victim.andrew_donnelly456 said:
