Attendance allowance question

It didn't read like that to me either. I agree with what you said, a lot of people of older people are set in their ways and will often just manage as they are. Infact, it's not just older people, a lot of people in general just don't realise they would be entitled to a disability benefit. It's very easy for us to just manage as we always have. Struggles with health just become the norm for so many people.Rubyroobs said:
Apologies if I made it sound like I thought non genuine claimants were claiming.slowcars said:
Are you suggesting that it is acceptable for people to put in spurious claims for benefits because they are looking to want an increase in their income? The cost-of-living crisis should not feature as a reason to 'chance their luck' for a bit more cash.Rubyroobs said:They are taking up to 12 weeks at the moment. I think a lot more people are applying due to the cost of living crisis and thinking they will give it a go applying.
If that is what is happening all they are doing is making genuine claimants wait longer for a decision.

Not AA but interesting to read this re doubling of PIP claims due to increased ill health

Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1 -
No doubt the proof will be in the pudding then when we are told how many more than normal claims are refused.poppy12345 said:

Surprised they didn't mention Long Covid, but it is interesting it's risen across all conditions.calcotti said:Not AA but interesting to read this re doubling of PIP claims due to increased ill health

Nothing here says you made it sound like non genuine claimants were claiming, but we all know that people do try and cheat the system, which has a knock on effect, sadly for those who are in genuine need.Rubyroobs said:They are taking up to 12 weeks at the moment. I help a lot of people to apply and whilst some have bene awarded within 9 weeks recently, there have been a few taking up to 12 weeks.
People lie! But it also makes sense that those who previously haven’t claimed for whatever reason, are now feeling the pinch and are pushed to claim what is rightfully there’s. Both have an impact on wait times.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.
