Morning all,Cold & crisp here.I think I've been awake every hour, suddenly started streaming with a cold last night. Well others in the family have all had it,and they're always generous with germs
Think I'll be nodding off later. At least it waited until after DGNs (3) christening yesterday, which was lovely. He looked very grown up stood by the font, and was so good. Great buffet afterwards too, all the usual stuff but a grazing table as well, olives, cheese, cooked meats etc. which suited me better than the pasties etc. Nice to have my brothers families all together again so we swapped cards and Xmas money for all the DGC, although we'll see DB2 at football and on Christmas day. We have an add on to numbers as DN is bringing her boyfriend, I'd been told he eats a lot. and it's true if the 3 visits to the buffet yesterday were anything to go off
. Might have to review my shopping, & find an extra chair as 1 of ours broke. Speaking of chairs,I hope you sort yours out Coxy. What with Snoozers experience at the till, it sounds like standards are dropping.
Glad you enjoyed the musical talents of your DGDs Izzy.Yes my tree is up now thank you Gers - glad I did it Sat. afternoon, certainly wouldn't have felt like it today.I think tea will be a quick shepherds pie later, I got some mince with my order.Right, I need a coffee, hope your days are good. Hugs for the poorly x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10 -
Thanks for the Christmas song Taff. Earlier this year I sent across to Oz a tree bauble with the Snowman and boy painted on, from the inside (very clever). It arrived as the first contingent of family was there in mid-August, they immediately burst into song. Both the bauble and song bewildered the Oz brood as they had never heard of any of it.I got rid of all my unwanted electrical goods to the chap up the hill this morning which I'm pleased about, he also took the felted wool strips to offer to his cats for their bed. My £10.00 winter fuel payment arrived overnight
although the more substantial allowance was in my bank last week. I've washed my hair and tried out the new hairdryer - it's very efficient though I won't be using it too much. My hair feels so different from when I towel dry it and leave it alone. I used to take 'wash and go' literally, this morning the air was frosty so thought better of it.
Rosy - oh no! I can't remember if the old wives saying was 'feed a cold and starve a 'flu' or the other way around. Anyway, plenty of fluids helps. I hope that it's short lasting.Camelot - I can't keep cheese in the house, it never lasts long enough to be used for anything apart from guzzling.TA - I could just eat a sausage sandwich, instead I had two boiled eggs which filled my tummy but not my need.Carolbee - enjoy your shopping trip. Now it's time for figures and more coffee.10 -
Morning all, the concert last night was lovely with 3 schools singing their hearts out. The hall was packed with 3 times the amount of people they were expecting, so they had to break out the emergency chairs 😂 Dad called in yesterday with his hearing aid in two pieces 😱 but sadly Mr Fix It couldn't resuscitate it, so this morning I've been ringing the local clinic for help. Apparently they no longer make his hearing aid, so he needs an updated one and be seen face to face, but the first appointment they had was for January. He can't wait that long as he's deaf as a post, so I plumped for one next week at a hospital further away and we'll drive him.
DD rang this morning to tell us to expect a call from DGD because when she went to feed Teddy rabbit this morning she found he had gone to rabbit heaven 😥 So we had a long video call with her because she's off school with a cold (as is SiL) Now Mr Fix It has taken Susie tank for her annual check-up (MOT), so finger crossed she's ok and I'm supposed to be sorting out the clothes I washed and dried yesterday, while I wait for a delivery. Ooops! better make a start.
Scarlett I think I'd like your book club, the local one it a bit staid and it's more "dog" collar than pearls as it's run by the vicar 🤣
Rosy sorry that you're feeling under the weather, glad the christening went well though.
Izzy well done to your DGD.
Hope everyone can have a good Monday
Take care all
