Anyone else a bit disappointed with the Advents?

Just continuing the downward slide that has been going on for years (the promotions are tax deductible so cost alone is not a big factor but Advent is not considered inclusive enough these days and they just get a better return elsewhere as Currys said several years ago)

EDIT - Black Friday/Cyber Monday have taken over as promotional events

yeah, i completely agree. there used to be so many good advent prizes. now there is a lot less companies doing them. Is bauer radio doing any advents this year even?

agree 95% insta, while i don't mind the tagging some companies want you to "tag all your friends" then insta get annoyed and block you. Also lots of tat masquerading as prizes, so i end up clicking and deleting. Like the op only doing a few as many not worth the effort. Insta is a pain, I tend to right click on the notifications yesterday there was a lot and by evening they were not opening when i checked insta said i had done too many. What is their problem with right clicking so i can decide if to do the comp?

and you have to follow them AND their prize sponsors and I agree with ^^ that some of the prizes resemble a clear out of all their old Xmas presents they didn't want last year..... grief I sound like a right moany moo.

I promised myself last year that I wasn't going to do the advent comps.  Glad I broke that promise, as I won one earlier. 
But yea, it's only a handful that I do and none of the IG ones. 
It usually a frustrating time of the year for us compers!

Its mostly become tat over the past few years. Gone are the days of the big prizes.

I refuse to spam my friends also so ive not done any IG ones, so thats left me with about 100 in total and most of them i dont enter

Advents have been easy for me this year

I am just pleased that they are all marked IG then you can go straight passed. can't get my old head around instagram took me long enough with Facebook.

I totally agree about Instagram , especially when they want you to tag 3 friends. I am not even sure if I would know if I had won something unless I scroll through every one i have been obliged to follow. In the past advents came under different categories, facebook , web etc. I'm sure that was a lot of work but it would be so helpful not to have to scroll through everything. Also it would be really helpful if posters said what the prize was so that I didn't have to go into instagram to find out.There are some great prizes so I do enter a few. Daunted when I see how many thousand likes they have though!

It's a mixed blessing, I remember 3-5 years ago the whole of December was consumed with keeping on top of Advents; would start with 10 pages to do in the morning, by the time I'd done those there were another 5 pages, then another 3, etc, etc, it truly was endless. Now I don't bother with IG, do a few pages in the morning, and it's only occasional checks thereafter. Not likely to win as much/anything, but I don't miss my OCD-need to keep on top of them all :-)

Exactly this, now I can enter all the advents I want in about 30 minutes but less wins as well as compared to a few years ago when it was almost daily getting a WEM
