Can someone explain Ripple to me?

How does it work?, do i have to change my supplier?, what about gas? What are the real savings?

    Ok read enough to know the next phase is years away and the returns less than a building society account.
    Thought it was worth the question as there has been some hype over this.

    Ultimately, Ripple is a hedge against prices staying high. You simply get a share of the operating profits but paid through a Power Purchase Agreement as a credit on your bill. If it's more profitable (i.e. wholesale electricity prices are higher) you get more.

    It's probably not the best purely financial investment, but you're directly funding (and co-ownig) new renewable energy generation and helping the transition away from fossil fuels.
