Morning @Gers and thanks for starting us off this morning x
1lb off for me at FC yesterday. I had a nice afternoon in London - very busy though! Quag's was fairly average and we were charged a 'music fee' of £5 each because they had a live singer who was so loud we had to shout to hear each other.
Got home to the news that my next door neighbour had died earlier this week from luekeamia. She wasn't even 60 and leaves a husband and 22 yo son. Just so shocked. I will go round later to see the husband.
BFF and her DH are coming today and we are going to a pub for a Sunday roast. Not sure if they are staying to watch the football later so will buy beer and snacks accordingly.
Thanks for the consumer rights info @-taff. I can confidently say that I've been totally calm and collected whilst dealing with M&S about this, and it's got me precisely nowhere so I've now emailed the CEO. Just bonkers really.
Sorry to hear about your incident @Nelski and hope you can get some advice over the phone if you're still in pain today.
Have a good day all
Coxy

Back - had my coffee ages ago and reluctant to get back out of bed, I'm enjoying lingering a bit longer.Yesterday I acted on a sort of whim and drove down to JL. I've been contemplating buying a good hairdryer for ages and ages, yesterday was the day I took decisive action. 😀 Normally I hardly ever blow dry my hair and only had a crummy cheapo dryer for the use of visitors, I'd even leave my hairdressers with damp hair. However, now that I'm older and it's winter I feel less keen on sitting with wet hair so took myself off, quickly got what I wanted, called in for my favourite sandwich and was back home in time for the postie at 3pm.The purchase has elements of MSE to it. I had £50 in vouchers and.a 'reward' of 5% off too. 😀Today I intend to be more idle. I only have one small parcel to get ready, it's not a Christmas present so no rush, I really only want it sorted. I may take some more cardboard to the recycling point if the rain doesn't start. It's very cold already and not set to get any warmer.I hope that everyone is coping well. Happy Sunday to all.13

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. It's cold and raining here, I think it's set for the day.Sorry to hear about your neighbour Coxy, what a shock. Had you known she'd been ill? A friend of mine died from leukaemia a few weeks ago but she'd been having treatment, she was a lot older than your neighbour though.Nelski, how are you today, hope you are feeling a bit better.Bella, hope you are on the mend as well.I don't think we'll be out today, there's nothing I 'm desperate for today. I started wrapping last night, it's not a favourite job but has to be done. Dh lent a hand, and we'll continue today. I've just remembered, there's a delivery expected today anyway, so we can't toddle off anywhere till we know when that's coming.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can today - take care folks13

Morning folks and thanks GERS. It's a miserable cold start here with light rain forecast on and off most of the day. Depressing weather!
NELS I hope your injuries are feeling less painful today. Another day of feet up for you I think. Take care x
Well as the saying goes - the best laid plans and all that. The wrapping/bagging/card writing never happened yesterday as DS called before I had even got started and stayed a while so by the time he left I cba starting! So today maybe?! I have already got my lunch organised and a tub of soup for the coming days lunches made so after this I have no excuse.
The 2 youngest DGDs are coming later for tea and sleepover - youngest after panto rehearsals and the elder once back from Renaissance in Leeds, so I hope to be all finished by then. Woops this laptop is so sensitive to touch it whizzed off before I had wished you all a good day with ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, fed up and MIA. xx

Morning all from a gloomy corner of Kent. Off to family for lunch today, with good company, should be fun. Better go and make my contribution!

Morning all, brr it's another cold day ahead with the prospect of sleet. Thank you Gers for the start off.
Yesterday I found my xmas cards (at last) and fed the xmas cakes. I had the heating on most of yesterday to warm the house and to dry 2 loads of washing for DD as her TD is well and truly buried in the garage. There will be another load of smalls coming to me at sometime today, then this afternoon DD is taking me to watch her school choir in a carol concert in their local community hall. I'm looking forward to it as I haven't been to one since DD passed the choir master baton on to a younger member of staff.
I spoke to Dad last night and he told me all about his xmas party and I'm glad he enjoyed it 😁. The entertainment made his day though as DGD was there singing with her school choir.
Coxy condolences to your neighbour and his son. Enjoy your pub roast and 🤬to M&S
TA enjoy your girl's sleepover.
Scalet you just reminded me that we have a delivery too but I think it's tomorrow, I'll have to check.
Take care all

Morning everyone it’s cold wet and miserable here today but I am very cheery I had a lovely night last night at the brass band carol service made all the more lovely as my GD got a award for most improved player over the year it was chosen by everyone in the band on personality and work ethic very proud she is such a lovely girl and she looked so grown up when people were congratulating her she’s just 14 and takes it all in her stride she had a two hour rehearsal yesterday and then played in two concerts she was shattered when we got in at 11 last night and she is doing it all again today next week I am at another GDs Xmas show this one is gymnastics they never have time to say they are bored always on the go . I will be making a chicken dinner later but other than that it will be a restful day I have 3 presents to wrap a job I hate I will get that out of the way . NELS hope you are feeling better today . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Hi everyone,
Coxy, Steve worked for M and S for over 30 years, when he started they really looked after their staff but by the end most of the perks had disappeared and it's even worse now. We still have a pensioner's discount card but I was made to feel like a criminal when I tried to use it a few weeks ago. It only has Steve's name on the front but 2 signature strips on the back, one with my signature. The cashier challenged me and brought a manager who said I shouldn't be using it and I had to pay full price for the things. When I got home I found the letter we got with the card so I took it back with the things and proved I was in the right. I carry a copy of it now but I was really upset at the time.
I've not been disturbed by Esther the last couple of nights but Esben came in at 4am this morning and ended up in bed with us so it took me ages to get back to sleep, not helped by his snoring (Steve doesn't snore unless he's had a bit too much to drink, which is a rare occurence, so I'm not used to it). I'll probably have a nap this afternoon.
Chris and Crystal came yesterday to meet Esther and we managed a photo of the whole family so I think we'll get it printed and have them framed for each of us.
Have a good day.

Morning all
Bit overcast here and cold but no rain due, I am hoping it will be dry enough for OH to mow the lawn as its like a jungle out there with all the rain we have had.
DD is off out with her friend and the dogs for a walk, her friends dog is nervous of other dogs so we are hoping that our two will see him right, our tiny dog is like a puppy trainer she sorts them right out and will tell them off when needed, she bosses our big dog round all the time, she is 100% top dog so im hoping she can help this other pup.
I sat and wrapped all the remaining presents yesterday and did all the cards too, apart from the stuff for my inlaws hamper which will just involve a trip to M + S I am done, I wanted it all done and out the way before I go into hospital on the 20th as I dont think I will be up to much afterwards for a while.
Roast chicken for dinner today I will phone mum and see if she wants to come too, I have got to do her shopping for her so could do that while she is here.
Nels I hope you are feeling a little less sore today, you take care xxx
Have good days all xx12
