Mine was a Hyundai which is part of the same parent group. Not sure if this made a difference.

Just to update, we heard nothing so I submitted a complaint just before Christmas. Whether by coincidence or consequence of the complaint, the part magically turned up the first week of January!0

Back in the 1990s Frord did a seat belt recall - If I recall correct trhey had to buy Britax to do it as cost bankrupted them. Kept our workshop busy.
