Best long term flat roof material

All the houses in the mews have flat roofs. This one needs replacing. Have had quotes for fibre glass and (more expensive) Triflex, and I know there are other materials available.

Any recommendations?

There's also Flexitec2020. Same idea - a GRP-resin combo, but with the resin part retaining  a good level of flexibility so that it doesn't suffer from GRP's possible main drawback, its brittleness? And also being super-adhesive so it can be applied to many substrates, even existing roof coverings if they are sound enough.
I personally don't like EPDM having seen how easily torn it was from a yoof rescuing a football using a branch...
I'd add to ensure that any roof comes with an independent, insurance-backed warranty of 20 years minimum.

Lead, Zinc, Copper, Steel, or even Aluminium are all long lasting alternatives. Expensive, but will outlast most of us.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.
  • Thanks for the suggestions. Pros/cons of each?

    Anyone with knowledge/experience of Triflex?

Cons of lead and copper are getting them nicked.

When I used to work on churches we would be covering up roofs which had it’s lead stolen at least once a month!
A lot was replaced with zinc and stainless steel but I feel it has a very modern look.
My go to is fleece backed epdm

I feel that standard epdm is quite thin and could possibly be damaged unlikely but possible, the fleece backed is a lot stronger
