Alternatives to Safety Deposit Boxes

Hi
My bank is closing its Safety Deposit Box facility in my local branch. As most banks now no longer offer this facility what options do I have?  Where can I still have an option to have a safety deposit box?
Thanks

Depends what it is you are storing therein ?

Documents you can keep in a fireproof box at home, or lodge with your solicitor.

Valuables you can install a concealed safe at home.

    Holy thread revamp!
We have some small items that we have realised are now a five figure sum in value.
Wondering on whether to seek out some safety deposit box (but can imagine that costing £100 or more each year?), or figuring out a really secure location at home to hide a fire safe!

Any ideas?  Wondering what others do about this kind of thing.
    Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!

We had this problem a few years ago when our bank closed its safety deposit facility. We asked our home insurers what spec safe we should get. They told us, but also said that if we home-stored items worth more than a certain value they would withdraw our insurance. As more banks stop offering safety deposit boxes they are becoming more of a niche market at, unsurprisingly, a higher cost than the banks charged.

Understandably their offering not cheap starting  at £240 per year for the very smallest box. However, for those hoarding gold coins ( for example), probably prudent to pay up for the peace of mind and security.
