EBay seller protection during strikes
This is a bit out of date as it doesn’t take into account the next batch of RM strikes. However the thing to note that is while INR seller strikes will not be counted in seller metrics eBay are NOT apparently extending the time in which a buyer can open one. So sellers will be needing to refund within the usual time frames despite the strikes and backlogs.
There is also no clear indication , and apparently eBay are telling different sellers different things on the phone, what will happen if a seller switches courier as recommended by eBay, and then buyer complains or leaves bad feedback. Previously eBay have taken a dim view of sellers switching postage method, so be warned if you take their advice and switch to a courier.

Hightlights:
- Your late delivery rate, which will be removed for transactions with estimated delivery dates until Friday 9 December.
- Your “item not received” count in your Service Metrics dashboard will be automatically removed.
- We will also remove any negative and neutral feedback relating to or arising from late or non delivery during this period.
- As always, please upload tracking details when you dispatch an item. This helps to keep your buyers informed, and adding tracking details gives you additional protection.

I don't know why they just don't extend the delivery time by, say, 5 days and it will get rid of a lot of problems.
Also, I've had no INR's removed from my service metrics dashboard either. All showing from the last two months. Has anyone else?1 -

Excellent post and this is what we did when Mrs Mrs DiY recently sold handbag. She had increased the delivery date as per your post and put a note stating deliveries may be delayed to postal strikes that are beyond their control. Therefore the buyer then makes an informed decision to buy or not to buy.
We just knew it was not worth the effort to ring Ebay as you may get varying answers as it is beyond their control, RM strikes/backlogs. We had considered an alternative delivery source but as Mrs Diy rarely sells anything we stuck with tried and trusted outfit but adjusted as above.
