Returning faulty fitted tap

I have purchased a kitchen tap online from tapwarehouse.com for £130 and paid a plumber £35 to install it. It worked fine for about 48 hours but then the hot tap stopped working and would not turn off. I have isolated the supply to the tap and have sent a message to the retailer who wants to send me a new cartridge to fix the tap. My question is if I return the tap to the retailer can I also recover the cost of fitting and removing it to send it back, or if I accept the part to fix the tap does the retailer have to pay for it to be fitted?

Replacing a tap cartridge is a simple DIY task, shouldn't need to pay to get it installed.

The answer to your question is yes, you can pass on the costs of refitting to the retailer, but the simplest solution here is to swap the cartridge yourself (if you have the manual dexterity to do so).

In future, get the plumber to supply and fit, then you have one person to go to in the event of problems.
