Simple brokerage account suggestions

Hello folks,
I have a decent number of shares from my former employer in my name. I want to transfer some of them into my wife's name and then sell them (maybe take dividends while I wait) before the end of the tax year so we make the most of both our our CGT allowances. Value of shares is going to be tens of thousands of pounds. That's my only need for the account and I'll then close the brokerage account.
Any suggestions for the best provider of a service like that, please?
Cheers

If you hold the share certificates you can easily transfer some to your wife.
Fill in a stock transfer form, Consideration = Nil, tick the appropriate box on the back. Send the transfer form and the certificates to the registrar.
Having split the shares you can then use a broker like XO to hold the shares as nominee and sell when appropriate.
I've used XO and can recommend them.0 -

You could use any number of other brokers e.g., Hargreaves Lansdown, AJ Bell, Halifax Stockbrokers and Barclays Smart Investor but if you're not planning to keep the account x-o probably works out as the simplest and most cost effective.UncleK said:0 -
OK that's helpful to have another vote for x-o. Thanks.0
