Hi
Recently bought a new Windows laptop which came with a 30 day Trial version of Office 365. I don't fancy paying for yearly subscription so is better to buy and install the traditional Office and where can I get it for a reasonable price?
Will only need Office for light work so installing the lifetime version is all I need.
Thanks

Microsoft 365 (new name for Office) has free browser versions of the usual Ms Office programs.0

I have the yearly subscription, I got a code on discount on an amazon sale a few months ago. It's mainly due to the fact I manage multiple mail boxes and have a secure excel sheet that would be a pain to port over to anything else.
I would recommend using Google Drive/Sheets/Docs. Everything is cloud based so you can access it anywhere and I never have any trouble with it, and you get loads of storage free, and I don't think it's that expensive to upgrade.0 -
Go on ebay and buy a back-level version if all you want is a bit of word and excel etc.0

Free, open source and absolutely fine for 99% of users.
I've used LibreOffice (and before that OpenOffice) in anger for well over a decade.
No need to be buying sketchy licenses or handing ££ over to Microsoft.
A dream is not reality, but who's to say which is which?0 -
I have a 2000 versiuon of office and it works fine on one of my computers running W8.1 - I have 2010 running on W10 which I was told would not and no problems. It did clash when I bought a machine with 365 so got rid of 365.0
