Hi everyone,
Thanks for the start NMLC.
I've only just managed to read yesterday's thread so I'll just say how sorry I am at your news Poppy, I too keep you in my thoughts.
I went to Cambridge with Laura yesterday, she had an osteo appointment to try to deal with her wrecked pelvis so I had Esther for her. We then went for a posh lunch and then to Bravissimo for new nursing bras as all her old ones were drooping. We only spent 45 minutes in the restaurant and didn't do anything else except feed and change the baby but we were out all day!
Then Brian's dad and his partner arrived and spent the evening (they split their time between Barra and Largs so quite a distance to come) in baby gazing. We got a takeaway so at least I didn't have to cook. They're here again today and go home tomorrow.
I've been up with Esther the last two mornings, she seems to have decided that 3am is the time she will cry for a couple of hours, I hope she outgrows that soon, all the men sleep though the screaming but I can't. Having said that Brian did a shift until 3am so Laura at least got a few hours sleep, she's expressed enough milk that somone can give Esther a bottle when it's needed.
Have a good day.12 -
Morning All
Precious time with little Esther snoozer, hope she starts to sleep better soon.
Thinking of you Poppy, hugs to you.
Dry for now but it's cloudy and damp, doesn't seem as cold as it has been or maybe I still have a bit of a temperature from having a cold! Better sleep last night thank goodness, we have our night out this evening at a restaurant in Partick, I've been before and the food is really good so don't want to miss it.
I stayed at work a little longer last night to do some more painting, some twit had the carpet laid before decorating and it looks a disaster so I'm trying to tidy up a bit. Couldn't find the proper paint brushes to had to paint the skirting board with a children's paintbrush!
Hope everyone is well, good to hear you're all getting on with the Christmas shopping, I bought a couple of vouchers yesterday so I'm nearly finished.
Take care. XX11 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.Poppy, I'm so sorry to hear your news, thinking of you.Camelot, you deserve a lovely night tonight after painting the skirting board with a child's brush!Snoozer, you must be tired, hope Esther's sleep pattern changes soon. She's young, and still getting used to being in the world.Someone mentioned Dumpling yesterday, I've thought about her at times through the year. I wonder how her family are.We were busy yesterday at home, DH worked outside for a good part of the day, tidying and scrubbing with the broom, while I was busy in the house. We are going to Newcastle today armed with a list, I'm so late with everything this year.Still, everything will be done in time as it always is, and Christmas will come and go as it always does.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can today, take care folks.12

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. After a fogless day yesterday it looks to be back with us today.
Yesterday's trip to Boundary Mills was a very expensive day out. Too easy to get a bit carried away there but I am finally on top of gift buying I think. We tried the new restaurant for lunch and it was a big disappointment for what it cost. It will be back to the coffee shop next time! We had a quick visit into TKMaxx on the way home as I had a gift card on the verge of expiring. I eventually fell through the door at 6.30, 10 hours after leaving in the morning! I could barely put one foot in front of the other.
Cleaning has been much neglected this week so there are jobs lined up for today, followed by more expense! Vets appointment at tea time so that will be another £75. It seems to have been a very expensive week.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, fed up and MIA. Take care all be safe x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all.Having my ex-OH here yesterday was good, mostly. 😀 He worked out how operate the new sofa bed, eventually. We had a magnificent cooked breakfast at the cafe by the marina then went off to Oban. I did a quick whizz round Marks, too quick as I forgot some key items.Anyway, when back here he spent ages sorting out them horrible tangle of wires behind the downstairs TV. I no longer need a DVD player, a YouView box or modem splitter. He managed to reduce 11 plugs down to four and connect the TV to the router by Ethernet cable. Then he tidied up the not so bad mess by the bedroom TV, did a bit of techie wizardry to Ethernet it to the router and went a bit mad with cable ties. I'm so grateful though it all reminded me exactly why he's my ex. 😂
Today I need to go back up to Oban for the missed items (my favourite cousin in Berlin really wants more Branston) then I have the monthly banking to do.Snoozer - you really are a fabulously supportive grandmother, sometimes I wonder how you do it.Camelot - what a great employee, painting the office and with small equipment too. I conjured up a comic image of you sitting on a P1 seat with the child's brush. 😂 Enjoy your meal tonight (let me know the name of the place, I'm hoping it's the Korean place as I long to go there).Scarlet- good luck in Newcastle, I hope you get it all done.Strangely my strongest memories of Dumpling are around Easter time, all the knitting of chicks is stuck in my mind. She loved doing it and I loved her doing it.Right, my clothes are calling me. I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Friday to all. Remember that SCD is on tonight.12 -
Morning all and thanks for the thread nmlc x
I too thought of Dumpling yesterday - she always used to wish us 'white rabbits' for the start of the month. I used to like hearing about what she was knitting for various family members, and she so loved Christmas. Thinking of her family x
Laura is so lucky to have your support @snoozer - not many grandparents would do the night shift!!! Hope Esther continues to thrive and I did wince about the 'wrecked pelvis'
Now I'm wanting a trip to BM @TravellingAbuela but a bit far to go from Kent!
Enjoy your night out @camelot1001 x
I have to go buy some US$ today as BFFs step-daughter moved out to Florida with her Mum and stepdad this year. She's home for Christmas and her birthday is early January so she will get some $ to spend. BFF and her DH are coming for lunch on Sunday. DH and I are seeing "She Said" at the cinema tonight at the early time of 5.15pm. I'll do a chilli in the SC for when we get back. First time at the cinema in 2 weeks as we've had DS1s puppy. He is back from Mexico this morning.
Thank you @-taff for the Christmas tune. The baton has now passed to you to keep us in the festive spirit throughout December!!! xx
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy

Morning all
Cold here but no rain which is nice ! Day off for me and I was awake at 6.30never mind at least I can get on with things !
Its my OH's Birthday today he is 50 ! I may have to trade him in for a younger modelwe are going out tonight to a tiny Italian restaurant in a local town the restaurant has been there for years and is supposed to be excellent so I am looking forward to it, dd will drive us there and bring us back we would normally go for a drink afterwards but the town its in has gone a bit run down and dodgy so we will come home after.
Im taking mum out today she wants to go to a garden centre and hobby craft so I promised to take her, she said she will buy lunch so a day of eating out for me !
DW has been emptied and I will have a tidy round before I go out, wm is on.
I am missing Tru and her carols, I hope she is ok, this one is my favourite:
Good King Wenceslas looked out
On the Feast of Stephen
When the snow lay round about
Deep and crisp and even
Brightly shone the moon that night
Though the frost was cruel
When a poor man came in sight
Gathering winter fuel
Have good days all and keep warm xx12 -
Morning everyone
Wet and foggy here this morning but it doesn't seem too cold - it's forecast to be freezing next week.
I'm ready for work - DD will pick me up soon as little one is there too today. Very exciting today - we decorate the Christmas tree in our classroom. We always let the children do it themselves, taking turns to put the baubles on - then I tidy it up a bit when they've gone home! As it's a small try it always ends up a bit overwhelmed!
Little one was hyper yesterday with opening the first door on her advent calendar - I think the words 'just calm down' are going to be used a lot between now and Christmas!
Better go and get sorted - hope you all have a good day today x11 -
