I am switching to a new SIM but unfortunately still have £10 of credit left on my O2 Classic SIM.

O2 do not refund credit balances so this money will be lost unless I find a workaround. I know there are some services where you can text an SMS to a certain number to pay for something and the money will come out of your phone bill.

Would appreciate suggestions of anything that's actually useful and under £10!

There's various charities you can donate to via SMS. Or you can probably enter a competition via SMS and have an infinitesimal chance of winning something! :)

This is not unique to o2, its a quirk of PAYG, you don't have the right to a refund for it for switching networks.  It is a case of use it or use it.

Yep, I donated mine to a couple of charities rather than let the mobile operator keep the money.
