My first reaction when someone asks how to save money would not be "go and buy things".0 -
not really for either. we know when the reductions are in our local shops and if we can we drop in at those times then meal plan around what we find (tho i said we're out of practice at that and i'm trying to get back into it). we also budget monthly (or try to) and include an amount each month towards bulk purchases for the store cupboard.Deleted_User said:

if someone wants to save money then the question you/then should really ask do they mean short term emergency (until payday) or in general (budgeting). because buying only what you need that day/week will save money on that shop but will often cost more longer term.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.
