Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark damp chilly start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was spag bol - eaten and enjoyed by us all. Tonight will be either jacket potatoes or new potatoes with ham, egg, pork pie etc - a use up of what's in the fridge. I'm food shopping again tomorrow so need to clear up what's left. Short day today - but working Saturday morning, so not an entire weekend off but time off nonetheless.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Damp and dreary out this morning, I've been out to open the side gate as I should get a coal delivery today - thank goodness as there's only dust left in the bunker.
Your good wishes seem to have worked, the inspectors were very impressed with the changes that have been made and even drank my tea and coffee! We'll hear more about it today as the HT had to go out to a meeting in the afternoon.
Good news on the chair Gers, hope all's well with your unexpected visitor.
Glad your waterworks are fixed Nelski, I have an inside switch that should turn the water off without crawling through the cellar. I really should test it some time!
Hope the spirits are lifting for those struggling.
I seem to have got a cold, had a really poor night just dozing, kept waking myself up snorting. Hoping the sore throat goes away soon, can't be doing with that. I've taken a covid test and all is clear.
Happy Thursday, take care. XX12 -
Morning folks. Thanks for starting us off nmlc.Yesterday turned out to be fine but cold so I lit the woodburner and was roasting all evening. It's so effective but there's no real temperature control, I had to retire to the other end of the living room. 😀
My ex OH arrived a few hours after he phoned so I had time to get my washing load hung on the airers upstairs. We had a pleasant evening catching up on news and doings, he went out to collect a takeaway then we talked more. He's still asleep downstairs on the sofa bed, not sure if he's pulled it out properly or just lying on it.Today I really have to go shopping so he'll come too.Sadly, I got an email from an old-time regular which she's asked me to share with everyone.'Hope you don’t mind me contacting you after all this time. Can you believe I have now been diagnosed with a new cancer ie new cancer not related with the breast cancer I already knew about. This is endometrial cancer causing heavy bleeding. There is a vague thought re a hysterectomy but I do not think I will go for it as it just seems to be prolonging the inevitablePerhaps you could let the people who knew me on the Martin Lewis site, I enjoyed my time there. Thanks, poppy 811'
It's such sad news, if you're reading Poppy then all my thoughts are with you. I hope that you are having great care from the medics. Now I'm off to start the day, take care everyone. Happy Thursday to all.13 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.I haven't looked out so don't know what the weather's doing, yesterday was grey, damp and bitterly cold.I met up with my friend at D*bbies yesterday, it was so busy, though it always seems to be, usually with little groups of women!I need a day at home at some point , I seem to be out a lot these days. Dh and I are going to go to Newcastle, probably tomorrow. I need to change a jumper that I bought on Sunday, and want to get some things from M&S. Really I'm just using him as a pack horse, he's not a lover of shoppng but I'll treat him gently!I think today will be spent doing general housework. Outside is desperate for tidying, both back and front, but we'll get to it.Hope everyone has a good Thursday, keep safe and warm, and take care folks.13

Morning folks and thanks NMLC for the start. GERS thanks for the sad update from POPPY. I often think of her. Life is so unfair isn't it. If you are reading along POPPY my thoughts are with you.
I think I may have finally got my Santa Claus head on at last! Me and Dolly Trolley got the bus to Ilkley yesterday and I came back with it quite loaded up!! Granted some of it was for me from M & S Food but I also managed to find some presents too - including for my BFF who is so difficult to buy for. Today I am off to Boundary Mills with DD so hopefully I may get the rest there. A trip to BM is always good for putting you in the festive mood it's beautiful at Christmas. DD can shop for England so I will probably end up leaving her to it and head for the coffee shop!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, fed up or MIA. And it's nice to have bits of good news for a change. NELS with her waterworks and CAMELOT with the inspection. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all
Very cold here this morning but I set the heating to come on early morning so its warm inside, think we managed quite well lasting till Dec without heating every day.
Off to collect my private client today and ex work are going on a Christmas trip to a local garden centre who have the most wonderful Christmas display so we will join them there, he will love seeing the lights and moving displays, I will take him back to work for his lunch and then we will do a bit of shopping on the way home.
Not sure about dinner tonight will get something in the shop something quick with chips I think, dw has been emptied this morning and I will have a quick tidy through before I leave.
Sad to hear the news about Poppy, my thoughts are with you x

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
Thanks for the update @Gers - really sad to hear and if you're reading @poppy811 please know I'm thinking of you xx
I didn't manage to get on yesterday as I was in the London office again. Glad to hear the inspection went well @camelot1001 - did you slip something in their tea?! @IzzyBee we are weightloss twins as I too lost 0.5lb on Saturday - it all counts. Your comment about the netball made me laugh @nannywindow - they should have a fluorescent coloured one! Thanks for stirring childhood memories of Pippa dolls @dp1, my favourite was Princess Pippa with the extra long hair, which never recovered once you'd played with them in the bath! Nice to have a visitor @Gers. Very jealous of all those visiting garden centres/shopping malls for Christmas shopping. DH and I are taking Monday off and will do our best to finish our shopping then. I feel very behind this year.
Dinner tonight is DR beef meatballs and spaghetti with HM arrabiata sauce - nice and easy.
Have a good day everyone and sending hugs to all those in need.

Morning everyone
It mustn't be so cold this morning as there's no frost. It didn't shift all day yesterday - I had a lovely cosy afternoon putting photos in little one's album and reading. While I was at mam and dads I cut up paper to make straw for her nativity stable and covered a little table with paper for her. My niece then came in so she put the knitted figures in. I'll have little one there at the weekend so no doubt she'll have them all re-arranged and will act out the story with them...just as my girls and my niece and nephew did when they were little.
Poppy - if you're reading along - I'm thinking of you x
Izzy - I was thinking of Dumpling too - she would have been busy knitting little elves or Santas now.
TA - well done with your Xmas shopping. I have little one staying over the weekend then on Monday DD is taking to her to Butlins for their Christmas themed break - so I'll be able to get everything out on her bed and get started on wrapping ...and see what I still need.
Camelot - good news on the inspectors
Well I'd better move and get some jobs done. Hope everyone has a good day today x

Morning
Had a "good for me" sleep last night. All the football on the telly is getting me to watch some different stuff, last night was a documentary about life inside a high security prison. Scary stuff.
Phase 2 of water sorting today. The plumber is "in theory" booked to come and sort the sink stop c0ck hopefully the curse of not bothering to turn up will not kick in. Need to empty all the gubbins from under there soon. Should be a declutter too as there's of stuff I have never used stuffed in. Asda delivery due this morning few extra bits picked up for December including some Baileys. Bet that will be OOS. This afternoon its volunteer calls so all in all a busy one for me today
Lovely visit with mum yesterday she was wearing one her birthday jumpers I got her and was pretty upbeat. The meeting was just to let us know all the plans and activities they have for December. Something every day so she'll be busy and clearly again have a better social life than me! They have lots of school visits from little ones crafting or the bigger ones in choirs for carolling.Anyway she won't be bored.
Right cupboard time have a great day all12
