I am with 3, and just taken out a new contract with 3 as mobiles.co.uk had an offer 3 could not match directly. 3 cant directly merge the 2 numbers, either I wait 30 days and then change it to PAYG then that can be merged, or I port out and port back in. Lyca mobile has sim cards you can buy, and I stupidly requested my PAC code from this rather than 3. I have dual sim phone, and forgot to double check which number the SMS went from. I then managed to get PAC from 3, and today the 3 number has been ported to Lyca. I then requested PAC code and it said that the request could not be completed. I really don't want to lose this number. Has anyone done triangular portation and did you have any issues? Many thanks

What are you trying to do, and what "merge the 2 numbers" actually mean? You don't "merge" anything.Suggest you wait at least 24 hrs after a PAC has completed before you try to move the number again.

No idea what you mean but last time I changed provider I ended my contract, requested a pac code and requested my number to be ported, all done in a few hours0

I think Neil's point is that you can't request a pac on the day you have ported a number in. You need to allow 24 hours for the port to be completed. So in this instance number x was on 3 on Monday a pac was requested to move to lyca, and given to lyca. the port to lyca took place on Tuesday, you need to wait until Wednesday to request a pac from lyca and give the pac to 3, the port would take place on Thursday. So you would experience a brief disruption of service on Tuesday and again on Thursday.0
