Look up the quotes but be aware of those that don't provide a decent service when needed.
I read ins reviews when buying ins, stiuk with Aviva for years, the LV and in between Direcetline and now with Saga. Thankfully none had to be tested other than calling aviva for advice on reg plate change 10/10 -  so check their reviews for things go wrong
    Thanks

I use Bymiles, works great for low milage users.
We averaged about 4000 miles this year which will probably be the same next year, that's relatively low milage right?
Yes quite low, when I do high mileage it’s all on one day so get charged for 150 miles max.
    5.4p x 150 = £8.10p.

    3000 chargeable miles at 5.4p = £162 + £235 = £397.00 for the year.
A referral gets the referrer £100 of free miles.

The tracker is good, it’s been used to prove I was not at hospital parking bay for 16 hours and Tesco for 47 hours.
    Saved me paying parking tickets.

    A few of my statements.

I wouldn't touch any policy not knowing what the cost is going to be.

OP, re legal cover. Check what you have on your house insurance. If you have legal cover there, may not be needed on your car insurance as well. I get it by being in a trade union, so don't have it on car or home insurance. The cover is the same for me.

Legal cover on a home insurance policy is normally written to exclude the cover provided by motor legal insurance.

The best quote I got last year was £850, for 3000 miles.
for 3000 miles I’m charged £162. Still half the price any other insurers wanted.

Is your postcode or occupation particularly bad? Given you drive a Peugeot which isn't exactly new or high risk.

Mines £200 odd for 12500 miles.
