Car Insurance Amended
Hi
my car insurance provider has changed my partners job (who is a named driver) on my policy and charged me for it. They said I made a search on a comparison site for 2 different job titles and they had decided she is the other from the one I submitted and have changed it and asking me to pay for the amendment. I submitted to them she was a teaching assistant but also searched for car assistant on another day. So they are charging me to change it to care assistant without knowing anything about her. Anyone been on a similar situation?

The obvious question is why did you do a search on ‘care assistant’ if your partner is a teaching assistant? Does your partner work at an ordinary school or is it for those with special needs? Could you send them your partners appointment letter to show their official job title?BrunoYMY said:Hi

She works as bank staff in a few different places. Doesn’t actually have a fixed title anywhere. Explained that and it done nothing for my case. There isn’t an option for more than one job title on the comparison site but there is on there own site which I didn’t use as I went through comparison site.0

Aggregators normally allow you to add second jobs etc plus they always tell you to go through the quote when you hit the brokers/insurers website.BrunoYMY said:She works as bank staff in a few different places. So presumably you are saying that some of her work is as a care assistant and so rating her as one is correct? Though maybe should be marked as part time rather than fulltime given the variability and add a second part time role.0 -
OP, hi
Please don't take it lying down. Send the the evidence and deman an apology.
Good luck0 -
Never get quotes in your real name and car reg.
I use different name, same make and model, same post code but different street numbers.
Correct age etc.

The OP has stated that his partner is a part time care assistant. A care assistant will likely attract higher premiums as they are often known to drive from one address to another in their day to day business, whereas a teaching assistant will normally be based at one school. Get too snarky and they could cancel the insurance due to false declaration of employment status, and there lies a whole world of pain.diystarter7 said:OP, hi
