EOn Next Debits

Hi all just wanting to clarify or highlight issues with the following and where i currently stand.

Been with Eon since Npower changed in 2019 and over the months I had been paying a nominal direct debit a  month ( we are on a farm with outbuildings and outside lights) we currently also have solar panels too on the highest feed in tarrif.

I am totally mortified as in october they took £800 YES £800 out of my account with no prior warning the DD was going up ( its was half this) then to mah utter dismay i notice my whole account is in debit :(  at its highest it was £3,000 so i traced back all the statement to see what happened.

June 21st 2021 - charged for electric.  ( all fine nothing scary)

June 28th 2021 ( 7 days later?)
-£1,012 to come out of my account!! Therefore plummeting me into debit.

This is concurrent with meter readings and the price given
I.e 7 days usage was3000 kwh @17p ( example)

The funny thing is we were in summer using virtually no electric plus solar panels so im a bit confused.

Also eon had failed to tell me i was in debt to them and never arranged to change my direct debit until they changed it to £800.

We had another "jump " dec 2022 to feb 2022 which was £2k ish which has now set our account in £3k debit

So :

Should eon had notified me of my "debit"

In return should they have contacted me about my monthly payments to help resolve the situation

The two times where it was thousands- is this normal? Especially the summer reading.

I hope this makes sense and could go into more detail but id be writing an essay here

  • Business/Commercial contract I assume? If so, when was the contract agreed and for what length, has it expired/renewed at a different rate?

How are you billed? When was your last bill issued - bills usually mention your DD and balance and notify if there are any changes.

Do you provide regular meter readings?
