  • The salary with the new job is approaching the higher rate tax band (which is frozen until 2028). So future pay rises are going to attract 40% tax. And tapering of child benefit if applicable. Worth upping pension contributions to avoid the higher rate in future.

    I wouldn't do it unless promotion and higher incomes were realistic within a short period of time e.g. 6-12 months.
