    It may have been from the health assessment providers wanting to ask him some questions. If it's just a few questions and not a full assessment, they will ring without sending an appointment date/time out. You can contact the Health Assessment Advisory Service to ask if they rang. https://chdauk.co.uk/about-us/contact-us/

    Thank you, he said the number was 08 and not marked as potential fraud. I always expect government to show as private number.

    He wasn't comfortable about applying to start with, but will try and get him to follow this up tomorrow.

    Would I be able to support him in an assessment? He struggles to convey himself sometimes as well as the difficulties he has in admitting/accepting his situation?

    DWP numbers are not withheld. Has he applied for PIP yet because it could have been to do with that. If you're his appointee then yes you will be able to speak on his hehalf.

    He hasn't yet applied for pip, he's hoping he can avoid benefits completely and find suitable employment.

    He is however starting to realise that what he thinks he can do and what he can actually do are two different things.

    We have looked at the pip descriptors, and it can be difficult to align his symptoms with the descriptors for instance;

    His memory is poor, I'm constantly having to remind him of plans, where we need to be etc, but he can remember to feed/medicate himself.

    He can easily walk 200m, however mowing the lawn for instance can completely exhaust him for 24 hours or more. Being mentally or physically active is incredibly exhausting for him.
