Buying house, right of way for side passage turns out not to exist

    Download the neighbours deeds.  If his say you have a right of way, he is not going to know it is not shown on your deeds and is not going to stop you.

    Right of Way is sometimes difficult.  I still have a great attachment to my old house, and recently looked at my buyer's planning permission on line.

    With the goodwill of our neighbours (who were able to enter our rear courtyard 'with notice' for septic tank shared drain/gutter maintenance), we were able to take our bins down to the road through their drive, but we stopped doing this years before I sold.  Looks like the new owner is going to take full advantage of this goodwill, he has the bins marked up in the rear courtyard.  Was always tricky because of their gravel and they got angry if any spilled out on to the road, good luck with that!
