Simple one - its not my car

Good morning, I have a simple query for which I just want to double check. I have had a letter in the post today advising of a PCN for stopping in a box junction in Dagenham, as recorded on a camera. Somewhat bewildered, I have logged onto the website where it shows the evidence by way of a still photo of a numberplate - the first half is the same as my car, but the second is quite different. Nevertheless, I have the ticket for it. Obviously, I will be appealing via the Challenge section on the website.
My query is this - which is the appropriate pathway to make this appeal? To my mind, it should either be I was not the owner, or not at the location on the day. Alternatively, I was not the owner of the vehicle. 
Does the path of the challenge matter? To me, I think it's quite simple, but I don't want to have to go back and forwards arguing the toss when it is quite obviously not my car, but because i have gone the wrong way to make the challenge, some drone/computer refuses to use common sense.

Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own, to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate), as they need to see all the small print.
