It says Type - Credit quotation by Barclays group,. I've had a BC forward for about six months, do you know why they would do a soft search?
Only thing I can think of is maybe a credit increase?

They can do soft searches if they want, it'll be in the terms, may be something as simple as checking for a possible increase yes.0

I have soft searches on my credit reports all the time. When I first noticed them appearing I was quite concerned but I realised that they don't do any harm, so I have stopped worrying about them. As long as there aren't any hard searches on there, you'll be fine. (That is to say that I am fine so I don't see why you shouldn't be.)
Hope that's helpful. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Also don't forget, a soft search is only visible to you, other lenders won't see it. So there's really nothing to worry about. As Farfetch says, the most likely explanation is simply that they're thinking of offering you an increase. You'll also often see searches appear if you browse for insurance on one of aggregator sites (Meerkats and the like). Not sure if Barclays Group are even involved in insurance? But that's always another common one to be aware of.0
