Would you short BTC?

Last time I looked, IG Index for example allowed bets going long or short on BTC. Given the very high volatility, it’s a risky bet. I’m curious what folks think about it.
According to IG, 79% of clients are long on BTC at the moment.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I mean, the short answer is 'god, no', it's far too volatile.
The longer answer is that the value of the bet would depend on your parameters - how much leeway, what timeframe ( I don't claim to know the ins and outs of day trading). I could see how a medium term (say, 1 month) bet might be tempting if such a thing were possible. Still, doesn't appeal to me personally, would rather watch with popcorn from the sidelines.

I used to dabble with Bitcoin back in 2018 or so. My main conclusions were that the price movements were almost impossible to predict...a lot of the time they did not seem to be based on anything at all, sometimes they were, but a lot of the time they weren't. It felt like it would depend on what the 'whales' would feel like doing to the price on any given day!
If I made a prediction on where it was headed in the next few months, then I'd say it should go lower, but I'd not put any money behind that prediction because of my experience with how random the price movement can be in crypto!1
