Penalty Charges

My employer has decided that any penalty charge notices will be automatically paid by them and deducted from my wages, without allowing me to appeal them.
While it does say in my contract (though is this a fair term and condition) that I am liable for paying these, surely I have a right to be able to appeal a PCN.
Quite often I am sucessful with these, however employer says it takes too much time for them (even though its me that will be appealing).

'Quite often I am successful with these '
Do you get a lot of them then. ?

Maybe park in accordance with restrictions in place where you are2

Your employer is clearly annoyed with the amount of time they take up dealing with PCNs for you and would prefer to get them out of the way quickly. It's quite possible that someone has decided that if you can't appeal them, you might be less likely to get them in the first place. You have no rights in this matter.0

I am talking about PCNs where a camera shows incursion into a bus lane etc, so you recommend allowing ambulances, fire engines to wait their turn in the traffic ?penners324 said:Maybe park in accordance with restrictions in place where you are0 -
The employer may also feel that repeatedly disputing PCNs, particularly on a technicality, brings the firm into disrepute.
I agree it may seem unfair if you had genuinely parked properly, respecting all of the rights of the landowner. However many (most?) disputes about PCNs seem to revolve around finding any possible loophole, completely ignoring the fact that the driver was infringing someone else's rights.0 -
How many of these do you get? I've never had one nor ever heard of anyone I know getting one, so to me it would seem unlikely one person would get enough to warrant their work getting tired of dealing with them. Are they much more common in other parts of the country?TimX said:

It is not always black and white. In my last company we had a division that did household removals. In many cases, particularly in London, parking the vehicles was problematic and parking tickets often incurred. In some areas, such as Westminster, the cost for a parking exemption was higher than the cost of parking ticket if you go caught - so the risk was always taken. You cannot always assume that the driver is just careless or nonchalant because they are penalized regularly.Ath_Wat said:Your employer is clearly annoyed with the amount of time they take up dealing with PCNs for you and would prefer to get them out of the way quickly. With all the above said, if the company make the driver responsible for the cost, they should not deny him the right of appeal.0 -
Really? You would have had to pay for your own parking exemption to do company business? And therefore as an employee you chose not to, but to take the risk? That sounds extraordinarily poor on the part of the company. If the parking exemption was necessary to do the work, they should have paid for it.MEM62 said:

TfL rules state that emergency services vehicles are exempt from bus lane fines when on emergency call out.TimX said:

Why are you getting fined then?0 -
They are saying they move into the bus lane to allow the fire engine or ambulance through, I think. I am pretty sure ambulance drivers and firefighters don't pay their own PCN charges, even if they do get them.penners324 said:
