EDF deemed query

Just moved house and have been put on EDF electric deemed which it says is a variable tariff. They keep asking me to choose a tariff but am I not better off at the moment just keeping it as the deemed variable?   Also have always dealt with BG in the past and am in two minds of just switching to them, any thoughts on that appreciated?

There is no "deemed variable", it is the standard variable tariff and that is what residential deemed contracts go on to. Have you set up an account with them yet? You need to set up an account and choose a tariff, at the moment unless you are on E7/E10 there is no point in choosing anything other than the standard variable and no point in moving to British Gas, and you still need to create an account with EDF before you can change suppliers.

BG are not accepting switches at present, like most suppliers.
