Not much of an update for me. I have been busy with the side hustles so hopefully I can have a bit of a blast if the surveys this weekend as I have lost track a little!
I used £9 in subway rewards to pay for mine and my daughter’s lunch the other day.
My interest isn’t as reasonable at the moment as I have just paid out scary holiday balance from my ISA. My 4 accounts have given me 2.23, 1.83, 0.30 and 5.00 so my current total is 957.58/2023
Total Debt May 21 £20,490.44 DEBT FREE DATE 29/7/22
Mortgage balance May 21 £177,096.19. Now £146,747.17
Mortgage free date. At start of sole mortgage = July 2042
2024 SAVINGS FOCUS - get rid of the car finance. Savings balance/outstanding balance = £11,857.56/£12,706.25
2025 Savings Focus - 33.3/33.3/33.3 split; savings for house renovations (bathrooms/garden/kitchen; whichever collapses first), save for a family holiday (probably our last one!) and paydown/offset the mortgage0 -
I was about to ask to join and then realised that I am #22. I was full of good intentions at the beginning of the year, but life and other commitments took over.
But I've gone through the accounts and here is the summary so far:
Jan - £17.75 (Crazy cat app + interest)
Feb - 3p (interest)
March - £70.74 (Savings maturation, Amazon giftcard, interest & cashback)
April - £3.82 (cashback + interest)
May - £1008.35 (Birthday money, crazy cat app, interest)
TOTAL so far £1,100.67
June is looking good as I have £100 due from Nationwide and £200 from a bank switch I did, plus some cash back and survey money - will confirm at the end of the month.
I'm also due to go from part-time work to full-time work - would people count the extra income as "money made" and if so for what period of time?0 -

Amazon Surveys: £0.75
Bank Interest: £1.72
Bank Switch: £200

Still no number but a few updates from me!
My daughter had English gymnastics finals so I decided to use my clubcard points to make going out for a meal whilst we were away cheaper. I didn’t realise how many I had so also took the boys out for a meal as a treat and to use a load of clubcard vouchers before they went from 3x value to 2x.
I saved £54 by using them on pizza express with the boys and then £36 with my daughter at Bella Italia.
I used £5.96 of McDonald’s points on mcflurries the other night.
I have had a little blast on surveys so had a £4.10 payout from Branded Surveys and a £5.90 payout from curious cat.
one of my side hustles has just paid me but they seem to have used my tax allowance, which will cause a knock on effect to my monthly salary from the full time job so not looking forward to that but I guess it is too late to change it as I have already been paid for and finished that side hustle and wasn’t taxed.
Anyway, I was paid £1014.96 so that takes my total for the challenge to £2078.50/£2023 so I have completed the challenge in less than half the time.
I am quite tempted to keep tracking as I have found the challenge quite motivating
