Empty house, turning gas on again at smart meter - precautions?

I am going to be turning the boiler on in an empty house. The gas is on to the house but the smart meter has stopped due to last tenant running out of credit, and needs some buttons pressing to make it work again. That bit is easy as it has money on it now.
Are there any special precautions I should be taking before turning on the boiler? All was working fine before summer, gas safety cert last spring and always been ok on gas checks previous years. There is also a gas hob, but I think that will be safe to just turn on again with no special precautions.
Posted in here as I think there may be some gas experts here :)

double check the gas appliances (like the cooker) are definitely off. just in case.
Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

If the smart meter detects any gas flow when the supply is restored, its Shut Off Valve will close.

thats good to know. but if they double check before turning it back on then it wont have to and that will save time finding out where the leak is ;)

Once the occupier of a smart gas prepay meter leaves and has told the supplier they are supposed to switch the meter into credit meter mode so new occupier can get supply..If they have not notified the supplier they are leaving then it's still in prepayment meter mode .

Thanks everyone, I have put credit on gas and electric, know the code to put in to have it running again and I am happy that there is no leak. Tenants did not notify anyone so I have done that and it will stay as prepayment for now, next occupier will decide what they want.
I was not sure if I had to wait after the meter allowing a flow again, or, if it was safe to just switch the boiler on straight away, or, if I needed to do something different but from the comments its just going to be make sure the hob is turned off, put code in the meter and turn on the heating. Possibly go tound and bleed the radiators, so need to take my bleed key thing with me in case there is not one at the house.

Personally I'd run the hob first, just to reassure myself that there is really gas in the system.
Once you know you can get a nice blue flame on the hob, then you can try the boiler.
