Was just about to apply for the HSBC Advance Account to start the offer, and the eligibility says - 'you’re not eligible if you are an existing HSBC customer', I have a HSBC credit card, does this mean I am not eligible?

Where exactly did you see that criterion?

It is on the first screen when you apply for the account, the first bullet point 
- you’re not an existing HSBC customer

That's very strange, and would potentially exclude people who just have an old savings account with HSBC. I think it is probably an error, or at best badly worded and means 'current account' customer.

That’s what I’m thinking. Have looked thru the ts and cs and it doesn’t appear to be in there.
