Debt Recovery Disput

Hi
I know this type of question posted in various ways but...
Here's my situation:
I've recieved a debt recovery letter from a company called TraceDebtRecovery (TDR) for an unpaid fine that I never received.
They are supposedly operating for Greater Anglia Car Park (train station car parking) asking for £170 for an unpaid PCN
I have never recieved the PCN letter they claim, which dates back 5 months.
So what do I do regarding this letter from Trace.
Do I contact them or ignore it?
I can confirm that I have recieved a couple of other PCNs from GAparkings which I paid at the £60 'discounted' reduced fine.
These particular fines relate to PCNs which are dated after the so called unpaid claim now being levied at me.
If I never received a Pcn for the said date, how can a debt collector chase me for additional unpaid fines!!?
I have at this stage only written to GA parking customer services to inform them that I never recieved a PCN for the date TraceDR  referred to, nor did I receive any other letter from GA in reference to this matter prior to hearing from TDR
I have also used my previous settlement of other GA PCNs to demonstrate that I have paid all recieved PCNs promptly and correctly.
I'm happy if GA wish to send out the supposed PCN offence letter, which I'll be happy to receive, review and pay if accepted.
I refuse to pay a jumped up TDR fine for a debt collection con relating to a matter I've never previously received.

What should I do?

Yes, NCP know they have little prospect of getting their money so they farm it out to Trace.

@leejhopwood - is that your real name?
  • Thanks for all feed back
Is there any feedback or other examples here that I can look at in terms of dealing with this.
Ignoring Trace seems risky , but I will do so until I hear back from NCP regarding my rebuttal.
    TIA

Ignoring powerless debt collectors is not at all risky. The only power they have is to issue very poor-quality bog-paper or slightly better-quality firelighters.

Stop calling them fines and paying them

You won't get yourself off the suckers list until you stop doing that
